Item is on hold" message not appearing

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
The Circ staff periodically checks in items sitting on the Hold shelf, in order to weed out those whose hold-request-date has expired.

When checking in an item from another ADM, in a multi-ADM system, the pop-up "Item must be transferred to ..." pops up, but the next message, "Item is on hold", does not. It does come up if it is an item from our own ADM. It worked in v.18, but not now that we have gone to v.19.

Note: these are ("PDQ") title requests.

    Resolution:
Until we get this problem resolved you should use the p_cir_06 (Hold Shelf Report) to locate items which have been on the hold-shelf for x days or whose end-request-date has passed -- rather than doing these test check-ins.

I see that the version 20 pc_cir_pdq_return.cbl program has had a change added to it to check for holds. I have placed that version of the program on the Test server and restarted pc_server 6991. Please test it to see if it produces the hold message.

From site: We are currently still testing the fix, but have not had any problems so far.
