    Like item override - override not allowed

    Question    
    What setting checks whether it is possible to override the loan for a like item?

     

    Answer    
    The solution is in table xxx50/tab/check_circ_override. Please see the information in the header and the setting for check_circ_14_a:

    ! This table defines the minimum password level that is required 
    ! in order to be able to override a cirulation transaction 
    ! that has been trapped by a circulation check procedure. 
    ! A minimum password level is defined for each check procedure. 
    ! The check procedure is identified by using the number of the 
    ! error message that displays when the check procedure traps the 
    ! transaction. 
    ! Error codes are system defined, and can be found in 
    ! alephe/error_<lng>/check_circ.

    0291 01 Patron has already a like item on loan. 

    This means that a staff user must have at least value 01 in the "Circ. Override Level" in order to be able to override.
