    Loan cannot be renewed

    In tab 16, maximum renewals for item status 14 is set to 01.

    But I can't renew a status 14 item. I get the message "Loan cannot be renewed". Any idea why?

    Resolution:
    The message "Loan cannot be renewed" (message 51 in the pc_cir_c0440 and _c0445 programs) appears in GUI Circ when the renewal due date would be equal to or earlier than the current due date.

    IF DUE-DATE < TEMP-DUE-DATE OR
    (DUE-DATE = TEMP-DUE-DATE AND
    DUE-HOUR <= Z36-DUE-HOUR)


    In this case the item is due on Feb. 9. Today is Feb 2. The loan/renewal period is 7 days. Thus, a renewal would make the item due on Feb. 9 -- which is equal to the current due date; thus, no renewal.

    Note: a Z305-RENEW-PERMISSION of "N" can also prevent renewal, but that condition results in a *different* message.
