Max number of global loans for Group ID ignored in tab16

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23

    Description

xxx50/tab/tab16 is set up to apply global loan limits to the group of sublibraries 16A. Patron has patron status 01 and is allowed 10 loans in all from the 16A group.
He is blocked from taking out an 11th item from 'Central' (C), but is allowed to withdraw an 11th item from 'Arts' (A), even though C and A are both in the same group 16A.
All the items in this test are item status 01 - regular loan.

What do I have to do to get the group of sublibraries in group 16A to respect a global limit?

    Resolution

Global limit (99) defined instead of group limit (98)

    - Add status 98 lines to your tab16
    - Add check_circ_4_d to your xxx50/tab/tab_check_circ to activate 98 check

    Additional Information

Status "98" was added with version 19-up, similar to the "99", except applying to the group ID.

The xxx50/tab/tab16 header (and the Configuration Guide) were changed to indicate this:
! Where 98 is used the total check is for the entire group that relates
! to the group ID. The limit that is set in the 98 line means that the total number
! of loans/holds/bookings in the entire group may not exceed this limit.
