No xxxnn prof_library or "prof_library: No such file or directory"

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

When dlib-ing to a library the message "prof_library: No such file or directory" appears. Or
when running a batch job, the following messages appear:
      No xxxnn prof_library
      Param Initialization Failure, Exiting !!!

<where "xxxnn" is a library, such as usm50>.

    Resolution

These messages indicate one of two things....

    1. If the library isn't in the results you see when you do "echo $aleph_libs" on the Unix command line, that means that the library is not included in the

           setenv    ALEPH_LIBS    ...

line in aleph_start or aleph_start.private.  It must be.

    2. The ./xxxnn/prof_library file has been deleted or never existed.   If there's a similar library of the same type (xxx01, xxx30, xxx50, etc.), then copy its ./prof_library and modify it to the values appropriate for this missing xxxnn library.
