    OPAC won't function: license_check [err]: Demo library usm01 has > 80k documents

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
In our test/training environment, we see the following error in the USM_DEV www_server logs:

license_check [err]: Demo library usm01 has more than 80k documents
    Error: License check failed, Exiting

    Resolution:
The program reads through the demo libraries (which can be listed via the command "echo $DEMO_LIBS") and counts the z00 records for each demo library to see if any of them have more than 80,000 doc records. If they do, it issues this message and stops the server.

(It is a "license check" error only in the sense that no demo library is allowed to have more than 80,000 documents.)

Though you or we may need to occasionally create a few records in USMnn libraries as part of problem diagnosis (comparing to your xxxnn libraries), you should not be loading your records into the USMnn libraries.

One reason for this is that it makes comparisons of results in your USM environment to results in our USM environment impossible.
