    Description:
I'm trying to connect to our Aleph 20 Test server Oracle instance for the first time and am having problems. Our TEST server was Aleph 16, then upgraded to 19, now upgraded to Aleph 20. So its Oracle was 9, now 10 (or is it 11)....

Anyway, I'm trying to connect using SID of ALEPH0 and port 1521 and I get the following errors:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory

If the SID or port is incorrect, please let me know.

    Resolution:
I see the following values in the aleph@lib-data2(a20_1) aleph_start:

    setenv ORA_HOST lib-data1
    setenv TNS_PORT 1521
    setenv ORACLE_SID aleph20

You should be using ORACLE_SID aleph20 rather than aleph0.
