One-tab vs. two-tab New Patron form; Fast patron registration

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
When I click on "Patrons" and then "New Patron" in GUI Circ, I get a one-tab fill-in form. When other staff at our site do the same, they get a two-tab form. Why is that? And what are the differences betweeen these.

    Resolution:
If your .\CIRC\TAB\Circ.ini file has FastPatronRegistration=Y, you get the one-tab form.

If it has FastPatronRegistration=N, you get the two-tab.

The regular, two-tab new patron form populates the Global patron record only. After saving that, you need to call up the: Local patron, Address, and Additional ID's forms.

The information required is basically the same; it's just that the Fast Registration has it all on one form.

One difference in behavior is that the Notes which you type onto the Fast Registration form populate *both* the Global and Local Notes whereas the Notes you enter in on the regular form populate the Global record Notes only.
