    Oracle error: update_cursor z305
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    Resolution:
Looking at the current www_server_4991.log, I find that all 36 of the z305 error messages in today's log are for two requests (14 seconds apart) from ip address nnn.nnn.nnn.nn:

    ... request: "/F/YMBHBAV5SKFB78G2Y1V83EPRD32G16I42U2EP8FYIAEG7MEJMQ-21091?func=item-global&doc_library=USM01&doc_number=000034589&year=&volume=&sub_library=LAM"

    ... request: "/F/YMBHBAV5SKFB78G2Y1V83EPRD32G16I42U2EP8FYIAEG7MEJMQ-21091?func=item-global&doc_library=USM01&doc_number=000034589&year=&volume=&sub_library=LAM"

You will note that the &doc_library is *USM01* and the function is "item-global" (the OPAC Holdings Detail screen).

It seems that the program was trying to access the patron Local record (z305). It looks in both the ADM library and the usr_library. (The ability to have z305s in the usr_library was added in v18.) For USMnn-library-access the USR00 usr_library is always used.

I find that the z305 table is not defined in the USR00 library on your server. I believe that this error message can be prevented by running UTIL-A-17-1 for the usr00 z305. Be sure that you are in the USR00 when you do this!

We might also ask just why/how this patron was accessing USM01. I don't know the answer to that.
