Oracle errors when loading data into the Aleph 22 Oracle DB: 'ORA-12899: value too large for column' and 'ORA-02374: conversion error loading table'

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

When trying to import ORACLE Data into our freshly installed Aleph 22 DB using "Install ORACLE Data" the following errors are shown:

ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "ABC01"."Z11"
ORA-12899: value too large for column Z11_REC_KEY (actual: 95, maximum:
    94)

    ORA-02372: data for row: Z11_REC_KEY : 'ISN
    issn0172066x=landundforstwirtschaft,fischerei'

    Cause:

During the installation (AIK) the option 'ELIB' (Scandinavia) was chosen.

The installation kit then installs the specific Scandinavian Database including different characterset configuration:

    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET             AL16UTF16

    NLS_CHARACTERSET                   AL32UTF8

    Resolution

Correct the AIK parameters to ELIBINSTALL=N in parameter file (param_bash.ini) to install the standard ORACLE DB with settings:

    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET             UTF8

    NLS_CHARACTERSET                   UTF8

    Additional Information
