Parameter max_no_storage_files for ADAM objects does not work

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21

    Problem Symptoms:
Adding parameter max_no_storage_files to aleph_start in order to assign a new directory when a specific number of objects is reached does not work as expected. The problem is that the user adds an object directory as standard value and the parameter is not checked then.

    Cause:
    Defect

    Resolution:
This problem is solved with rep_change 2521 in Aleph 21.

Description: ADAM objects - When creating a new object for a BIB record via the "Objects List" pane, and the environment variable "max_no_storage_files" has a value, no error message is displayed when the maximum number of files is reached in the server directory where the object should be saved.

Solution: This has been corrected. If the number of files in the server-side directory where the object file should be saved exceeds the value of max_no_storage_files, an error message is displayed and the file is not saved.
