    Description:
We are finding that if the z308_verification field is blank for id type 00 (system number), a patron can not place an ILL request from the OPAC.
Records created since we started on ALEPH do have this field populated, but the records that were converted from our previous system do not have this field unless they have been manually updated online.
Updates done through the PLIF to these older records do not generate a z308_verification field. We are willing to populate this field but it is encrypted.
    How should this be done

    Resolution:
You can extract the z308 with p_file_03 (which unencrypts the verification), populate the missing data, and reimport with p_file_04 (which encrypts the verification).

Note: the p_manage_64 job has a "z308 encryption" option, but may not handle the case of the blank verification.
