    Publishing for authorities

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23

    Description:

Publishing in Aleph is all focused upon Bib records. Looking at ue_21, there is also mention of publishing for Authorities. Do we also need all publishing to happen for Authorities?

Does a z00p need to be created for xxx10? And if so, where is this dealt with on the Primo load side of things? How does Primo address this? Where in Primo are these loaded/stored etc.?

    Resolution:

As described in section 3.3 of the The ALEPH Publishing Mechanism document, expand_doc_bib_accref_1 can be used to expand authority record headings into the z00p record as part of the extraction:

"This expand program works like expand_doc_bib_accref. The difference is that the cross reference information expanded by expand_doc_bib_accref_1 is put into lines named after the acc code of the relevant Z01 record of the bibliographic library.
"If for example, the acc code of the relevant Z01 record is AUT, then the line to which the information will be expanded will be called: AUT."

expand_doc_bib_accref_1 would be specified in the xxx01 bib library tab_expand with the label specified in column 4 of the xxx01 tab_publish.
Primo takes these AUT, SUB, etc., tags and puts them in the appropriate place on the Primo side for searching.
Therefore, p_publish_04, ue_21, p_publish_06, etc., do not need to be run in authority libraries.
