    Description:
We used the cold backup from Sunday to restore the database. We have Hot backups created by your scripts for Monday and Tuesday. How do we proceed?

The backup procedures we use are the ones that get the list1-list4 (datafiles, control files, redo logs, and archive files) and then bulids a tar ball of the all. Can we tar extract Monday and then Tuesday and then recover up to Wednesday morning when the problem occured? Or do we have use some other procedure?

    Resolution:
[From site:] We did the following:

    * extract the cold backup tar ball,
    * extract the most recent hot tar ball prior to the problem, and then
    * recover to specified time just prior to the problem.
