    Description:
When repackaging the client with HTMLPRINT.EXE and HTMLPRINT.INI included, the batch script MAKEINS2.BAT
does not handle these long filenames well; you end up with HTMLPR~1.EXE and HTMLPR~1.INI when you install the client from the newly created package. This means that Aleph Version Check will present you with the option to update these files because the names are in the MS-DOS 8.3 short name convention, hence it thinks you don't have these files on your PC.

A more serious side effect of these files being inadvertently renamed is that printing fails altogether. I receive an error message when attempting to print:

Unable to Find ID:IDE_FAILED_PRINTING in File:Message.dat

The workaround is to simply rename the files to their correct long name format. i.e.

    ren HTMLPR~1.EXE htmlprint.exe
    ren HTMLPR~1.INI htmlprint.ini

Perhaps this is the reason ALEPHCOM\BIN\HTMLPRINT.EXE and HTMLPRINT.INI are not included in /exlibris/aleph/a17_7/aleph/pc_exe/GUI500.exe vanilla client ? Are you aware of this ?

    Resolution:
The solution in v17 is via inst_end utility which will rename the file with the ~ to htmlprint.ini.

In order to repack the latest gui500.exe must be re-taken.

This is included in the latest SP.
