Description:
The Help for the "Return Date Override" function in Circulation states: "The default return date will usually be the actual date the librarian registers the item as returned. This date can be overridden and changed to an earlier date. The override return date will be active until it is deactivated (timed out) or until the Return window is closed."
Question: Is there a way we can change the time out value? Right now it's timing out faster than expected.
Resolution:
It's in the Aleph User Guide, p.250. In circ.ini:
[Return]
LogSize=300
DateOverrideActive=5
DateOverrideActive is the number of MINUTES of inactivity at the workstation before a warning message appears to the user that OverRide is active. The override date never timeout, it only gives the warning message. The user has to manually clear the Override button to return to the default return date.
If you don't want this message, you could either set "DateOverrideActive=99" or comment this line out.
