Search with apostroph in OPAC for a text pasted from a Word document

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    * The search of a text with apostrophes, which is copied and pasted from a Word document, doesn't find any record
    * If the same text is typed directly the search returns relevant records

    Cause:
    * The automatic formatting in Microsoft's Word 2010 changes the standard, straight apostrophe, into a curved apostrophe
    * It is possible to change these settings within the Word program to make the preference permanent using the AutoCorrectionOption tool

    Resolution:
    1. Open .xxx01/tab/tab_word_breaking
    2. Add the unicode notation for the character "right single quotation mark" (U+2019) to routine 90 :
    90 # to_blank U+2019@$^_={}[]:;<,.\/
    3. Word routine "90" is used when parsing a FIND query.
    4. Restart PC and WWW Server
