    Question

After upgrade from Aleph 18 to Aleph 21:
In 18 there were two fields for Patron name in the fast registration form (first and last name), in 21 we only have one for the name. Is there to have separate fields for first and last name in fast patron registration in the circulation client?

    Answer

No, this can not be configured in Aleph 19, 20 and 21.

    Additional Information

Aleph 18 indeed had the functionality in Fast Patron Registration to support separate first and last name of patrons while in the Aleph Database only one field (Z303_NAME) existed.

When registering a patron via fast patron registration the Aleph 18 client automatically converted the two fields in GUI to the one field in the database.

However some customers reported problem with this automatic conversion in specific scenarios. The only solution that could be provided by development at that time was to remove the separate fields in Aleph 19 and higher.

So Aleph 19, 20 and 21 do not have the possibility to have separate fields for first and last name.

However in Aleph release 22 the database has been changed and has two separate fields Z303-FIRST-NAME and Z303-LAST-NAME. So there is no problem anymore to store this information separately and it can also be registered and updated in GUI (fast and regular registration) that way.
