    Question

After moving to GND (German Authority Database) where an author/corporate author field can have different subfields it’s no longer correct to have only subfield “a” listed in tab_acq_index but we need several subfields. In tab_acq_index only 5 fields/subfields can be added in one line. Can we add a second line?

    Example:
Line in tab_acq_index now (no GND format)
    ! 1 2 3 4 5 6
    !!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!
    PER 100##a 104##a 108##a 112##a 200##a

Should be the following (GND format)
    ! 1 2 3 4 5 6
    !!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!
    PER 100##p 100##c 110##k 110##b 111##e
    PER 111##b

    Answer

It’s not possible to have two lines for one index (PER). Don’t add the specific subfields but let a space there, then all subfields will be considered.

    Example
    ! 1 2 3 4 5 6
    !!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!-!!!!!!
    PER 100## 110## 111##

    Additional Information

Only relevant for MAB customers working with GND (German National Authority Database)
