    Description:
How does the item-04 service handle multi-volume sets where the volume is in the description field? We are testing this service and have questions on why some of their multi-volume sets are list as item-misshelved.

    Resolution:
p_item_04 does not handle the case where there are multiple items with the same call number correctly. It expects such items to be in order by their Z30-SEQUENCE-NUMBER, which they may or may not be. (It does not check the Enumeration or Description fields.)

Ex Libris says that p-item-04 is not going to be fixed, since the new mechanism of 'inventory management' (p_item_01, p_item_07, p_item_08, p_item_09, and p_item_10) is working well. We have tested it, and find it does deal correctly with multi-volume sets. Please use that instead.
