    Description:
When an item is deleted, what happens to the circulations for that item? Are they stored somewhere that I can run reports against?

    Resolution:
ALEPH uses the z35 events table to produce circulation statistics. The deletion of the item does not affect the z35 record: the z35 event records are preserved even though the item is deleted.
If your reports are looking at the Z30-NO-LOANS field in the item record, you can find the deleted items in the Z30H table. (The item history table.) Z30H records for deleted items can be identified by the fact that they have a Z30H-H-REASON = "Deleted" or "Deleted (Bound)". (See KB 16384-46961 for cases where there is no Z30H-H-REASON = "Deleted" record.)
It should be noted that the Z36H records *are* deleted when the item is deleted. If your reports are using the Z36H, they should be changed to use the Z35 instead.
Note: When an item is deleted by the GUI item-delete function, both the z35 and the z36h are left as they are, but when a "total delete" (of the bib, adm, item, etc.) is performed (in the GUI or by p_manage_33), the z36h is deleted. The z35 is preserved but the Z35-DOC-NUMBER is changed to zeroes.
