    Description

We have a pick-up location which is identified in tab_sub_library.eng as type 3 - no items, no patrons. For the past few years, we've been automatically checking out items that are to be delivered to that pick-up location (xxx50/tab/tab27) using "process option" 03 - generates a letter and delivery slip, and automatically checks out the item.

We are considering changing the way pick-ups are handled at that pick-up location. We want the items to go in-transit to that pick-up location, and a staff member at the pick-up location will check the item out to the patron when he arrives.

We currently have the following set:

    ./alephe/tab/tab_sub_library.eng
SNFRD 3       L Sanford School of Pub Policy

    xxx50/tab/tab27:
    H ##### ## SNFRD 01

    Z303 patron ID: SNFRD
Z305 patron type: 23 (Library Department - same as our other library transfer patrons)

The item is going on hold for the patron, but is not going in-transit to the SNFRD library.

Any ideas on how I can make this work?

    Resolution

In tab_sub_library, type 3 is used for campus delivery, but for locations where patrons come and get the items, type 1 is best. This just seems to work better, even though the location doesn't actually own any items. Tab 27 is set up as you describe. You also need to be sure that the workstation ID for your pickup location has the location listed as type 3 in tab_attr_sub_library.
