    Description:
When we import Springer records for e-books the default in Leader (LDR) position 18 is u. Our rule is that we should use a (aacr2).

If any one edits a record he is prompted to do this change manually but in the case of 20,000 records I'd like to be able to fix the records before importing them.

All the other fixes I need can be done using the service Global changes manage 21

Does anyone have a simple global fix I can run on the records either before or after I import them into Aleph?

    Resolution:
You may create a fix like the following, naming it ldrnew_fix in XXX01/tab/import/

    ! 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

    !-!!!!!-!!-!-!!!-!!!-!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1 LDR BK 18 18 FIXED-CHANGE-VAL u,a

Then in tab_fix add a new routine like:

    LDR fix_doc_do_file_08 ldrnew_fix

Then you may run the file through p_manage_25 before you import it into ALEPH.
