Upgrade Express v16 - 17: FAILURE due to lack of form_eng for PWD50

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
In running Upgrade Express for v16 --> v17 we get FAILURE messages (10.log, 18.log). We found that the software was trying to update form_eng files on our PWD50 library, which does not have form_eng files. Any ideas why it would try to update such files?

I ran with UE with the following libraries:

    BCI01, BCI10, BCI30, BCI50, BCI60, PWD50

There were no complaints about form_eng for any BCI directories, even
though there was only one with a form_eng (BCI01). So, I'm a bit
baffled as to why it tried to find a form_eng for PWD50.

But, since that is to be expected, can I ignore such errors? Or should some configuration information be changed so that the UE outcome ends up fully clean?

    Resolution:
The answer is that each library should either have a form_eng directory or a path_convert line pointing ./form_eng to some other library's form_eng.

The bci01 has a form_eng directory. All the others, except PWD50, have a path_convert file with a line pointing them to the ./bci01/form_eng/ directory.

    I note that USR00, the generic pw_library / usr_library that we distribute, has a path_convert line for form_eng.
