    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Problem Symptoms:
Editing local patron information in circulation (such as adding a local note to the patron record or trying to change the expiration date) results in the following error message:
User denied permission for function Circulation (Patron-Manage)/Update local user record (Bor-Update)

    Cause:
Permissions not granted in Staff Privileges

    Resolution:
Change the circulation access rights for the xxx50 library, for 'Update local user record' (located under Patrons, Global) to 'allowed'.

    Additional Info
The access rights menu option can be found under 'Staff Privileges' (the key icon in the lower right-hand corner of the GUI.)

See screenshot attached to old (SF) article for an example of where the permissions need to be changed.
