    Vendor record containing comma can't be deleted

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

    A z70 vendor record has been created both with a comma ("GROETECKE, JOHANNES") and without it ("GROETECKE JOHANNES").  When we try to delete the first one (with the comma) the GUI responds with "Vendor code has linked orders. Unable to delete vendor" -- even though the orders are linked to the vendor *without* the comma ("GROETECKE JOHANNES"); the vendor with the comma ("GROETECKE, JOHANNES") has no orders linked to it.   {Note:  It may be that the same applies to vendor codes with other punctuation (hyphen? quote-mark? parenthesis?)}

    Resolution

    We confirmed that, though "GROETECKE JOHANNES" has 12 linked orders (z68's), "GROETECKE, JOHANNES" had no linked orders. (It seems that the system has been removing the comma and checking "GROETECKE JOHANNES" when issuing this message?) And also that "GROETECKE, JOHANNES" has no linked z71, z74, z75, z77, z601, z16, z30, or z1007 records.

    Using SQL, we deleted the z70 (vendor) record and z72 (vendor address) records for "GROETECKE, JOHANNES".
