    Question

    What does "H" on the version 21 user-loan screen mean?:

    LOAN TYPE H

    They can be seen in the following SQL::

    select Z36_SOURCE, count(*) count_type from xxx50.z36 group by Z36_SOURCE;

    Answer

    The z36_source field can have three possible values "H", "B", or blank.

    "H" indicates that "the loan was created by a Hold request", that is, the hold was set to automatically be loaned to the patron.

    "B" indicates that "the loan was created by a Booking request".

    Additional Information

    The Z36-SOURCE column (and the value of "H") were introduced with version 17 rep_ver 008781 -- but if items just started being automatically loaned to patrons via holds, the Z36-SOURCE "H" fields would just now be appearing.
