Is there any documentation on what tables in alephe/tab and xxx01/tab etc. that can have a logical base suffix? I
 

Answer    
Base extension is supported in these tables:

edit_doc_999.eng 
edit_doc.eng 
tab_item_list_order 
pc_tab_short.eng 
www_tab_short.eng 
www_tab_myshelf_short.eng 

Other tables are not base sensitive.
