    Question

    Nowhere does Upgrade Express instruct the user to turn on Oracle Archive logging.
    When should in the upgrade process should Oracle Archiving be turned on?

    Answer

    The following have been added to the Upgrade Express document:

    1. At the end of section 3.9 ("Analyzing the Upgrade Express Results"), after the sentence:

    Run Util H/2 and Util H/3 to synchronize headers. (Although this step is not in the menu above, it is required).

    the following sentences have been added:

    Do Util O/7/3 to see if Archiving is on. If not, do Util O/7/1 to turn it on.

    2. In Section 9 ("Upgrade Express Checklist after Upgrade"), in the "General" section the following has been added:

    Do Util O/7/3 to see if Archiving is on. If not, do Util O/7/1 to turn it on.
