    Question

    Why doesn't the system take grace days into account when calculating fines?

    The fine when returning an item seems to ignore the 4 days' grace.
    The due date was on 05/04/2012 and the cash transaction created 10/04/2012 have fines although there are closing days in these period of time. The fine of 10/04/2012 seems to ignore the 4 days' grace.


    The definition in tab16 is like this:

    Answer

    In this case the system is working correctly. Grace days are also counted against closing days.

    The item was due on 05/04/2012 + 4 Grace days = due date 09/04/2012. The item is only returned on the 10th and therefore creates a fine for one day = 0.50 (instead of 2.50 which would have been the amount without grace days).
