    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
After our v.18 test environment was up and running, we re-ran two indexing jobs i.e., p_manage_01 and p_manage_05.

Now, if we clone a new Oracle instance from v.16.02, upgrade the instance from 9i to 10g, and then run the upgrade kits (steps above 999) to bring the version to 18.01, do we need to re-run p_manage_01 and p_manage_05?

    Resolution:
In the case of a second Oracle instance on the v18 server, sending data to that second instance will not affect anything in the first instance.

If, on the other hand, you are talking about replacing the first instance, all of the files will be replaced. The existing tables will be overlaid by the data coming from v16 and you will need to re-run the jobs.
