    Description:
We recently discovered corrupted values for control number (Field 001) in several MeSH heading records. For example, in the record with SYSID of "110861", the wrong value for field 001 is "000110861" while the correct value should be "D004856". Since this problem occurs only in a limited number of records, we would like to know what is causing this and how to correct it.

    Resolution:
This line in the ./xxx12/tab/tab_fix is causing this behavior:
    INS2 fix_doc_001

If you don't want the SysID to be inserted into the 001 field, this line should be commented out or deleted.

If you had the Z00H table defined for the xxx12 library, you could check there to see what the original 001 was. But since (like most sites) you do not, you will need to refer to the MeSH record in an outside source to correct these.
