    Description:
When you try to do *any* print in the GUI in version 18 or 19 you get an "XML/XSL parse errors" message, followed by three Notepad screens, the third of which ("Xml/Xsl.err") has the following message:

    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/CharSequence
    Exception in thread "main"

(Note: If the error message you see is different than the above, please check for it in the Knowledge Base. This problem pertains to this specific message only.)

    Resolution:
Beginning with version 18 you need to have the Java 2 Runtime Environment. The above message can occur when it is missing.

To see if you have it, do:

Start --> Control panel --> Add or remove programs

You should see "Java 2 Runtime Environment" under "J" in this list. If you don't see it, that means that you don't have it.

With version 18-up, you must have it. It can be obtained from www.sun.com (downloads).
