    Description:
We recently began encumbering serials funds, and as part of this, our acquisitions staff are asking for some functionality that I'm not sure we can deliver. Is it possible to have encumbrances drop to zero when an order is set to VC or LC, like it does for CLS?

    Resolution:
I don't believe that there is any option in Aleph to cause the encumbrance drop to zero when an order is set to VC or LC. I think this would be an enhancement request.

The following from KB 16384-17793 may be relevant: "if you click on the Encumber button on the Order/Budget window showing the Encumbrance/Active Amount, this will reset the Encumbrance to zero" (though this may not apply to closed orders).
