    Question

When receiving the material for a borrowing request, a temporary item is created. How can we control which call number the item will get? We would like the call number of the temporary item to be empty.

    Answer

According to the 'System Librarian’s Guide – Integrated ILL', the variable call_number_type in pc_server_defaults defines the call number type that is assigned to the temporary items that are created when an ILL borrowing request arrival is registered. If it is not defined, the default value is set to 7.

It is hardcoded that the call number of the temporary item is always filled with the doc number of the borrowing request.
