    Description

We experienced slowness with our Aleph version 20 startup as part of our routine monthly shutdown/startup. The startup hung for approximately 40 minutes. Since that time we have seen delays in the dlib, dt, and util commands.  (They take about 10 seconds each.)  The log shows the  ./alephe/tab/tab100 and the $data_tab/tab100 being accessed.

    Resolution

Though the dlib and util processes read these tab100's there is no reason to believe that the delay has anything to do with those tables. The procs are looking at lots of other tables too; they just aren't recorded in the log.

    A second aleph_shutdown / aleph_startup corrected the problem.
