    Question

In configuration ./xxx60/tab/tab_fix_mab2usmhol for converting HOL records from MAB to MARC format I have the following lines:
    ! 1 2 3 4 5
    !!!!!-!-!!!!!-!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>
    200 f 8521 h
    200 b 86630 a
    OWN a 8521 b edit_field MERGE-I,SORT=bh

What does “MERGE-I” in line for field OWN mean?

    Answer

Line for field OWN concatenates results of …
    200 f 8521 h
    and
    OWN a 8521 b
… to one field 8521 with subfields „h“ and „b“ and subfields are sorted in order “b”, “h”. Without this line there would be two fields 8521, one with subfield “h” and one with subfield “b”

    Additional Information

    Example is from MAB environment
