    Description:
In preparation for a reclass project, technical services staff is inputting the old Dewey number in the call number two field in the item record. They're doing this for in anticipating of problem resolution down the road. Call number two is showing up the Web OPAC, though, and we definitely don't want it to. Take a look at system no. 3379379. You'll see that the brief display shows two call numbers, with what looks like two locations, so that it seems like we have two copies of the book. The holdings view is fine--- it shows only the LC call number. Can you please advise on how I can remove this 2nd call no.?

    Resolution:
The call number type is subfield n in the PST field (coming from the z30_call_no_type or z30_call_no_2_type)..
    I suggest that you:.
    1) Decide on a call number type value (say "9") which will be used instead of "1" to represent z30_call_no_2_type Dewey numbers..
    2) Use SQL to change all z30_call_no_2_type "1" to the type decided on in step 1.
    3) Change your xxx01/tab/tab11_... tables to send this "9" to the Dewey call number index (--in addition to "1")..
    4) Change your xxx01/tab/www_tab_short.eng to exclude these subfield n's with "9" from display: " ... n -9 .. PST "..
(You may also want to make a similar change to the Web Full display using edit_doc_999.eng columns 3 and 4.)
