    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Problem Symptoms:
After printing labels from items menu "Print item labels" Aleph automatically changes the fields call no. and collection from that item ? reverting the information on those fields to the previous value.

    Cause:
    Entry in $alephe_root/pc_server_defaults
    setenv item_label_restore Y

    Resolution:
Change the entry item_label_restore in $alephe_root/pc_server_defaults to "N"
    Example:
    setenv item_label_restore N

    Additional Information

There is an explanation in System Librarian?s Guide - Items
    item_label_restore
This entry works together with the GUI-Circulation utility Change Item Information.
    Possible values:
Y - When the user changes item information (using the Change Item Informationutility in GUI-Circulation) and the Permanent Change field is not checked, as soon as
the item label is printed, the original item information will be restored and it will
replace the non-permanent information. The item label will also include the original
    item information.
N - The original item information will not be restored when the item label is printed.
