p_file_20: "z308-rec-key belongs to other user (..........)"
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 19.01
Description:
I'm trying to generate a PLIF load with three ID sections so that we can use LDAP authentication for our OPAC.
1 - barcode (generated by IT and used to create a match between Banner and ALEPH)
2 - University ID - (the Banner ID)
3 - University network username / password
The problem is that we load a lot of patrons who do not have network usernames/passwords (alumni, etc.).
I had thought we could just enter them as xxxxxx's, but that doesn't work.
A test load in non-update mode generated lots of these error messages:
Error (b_file_20_chk_edit_record) :
Record No 003068
z308-rec-key belongs to other user (03XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX )
What would you suggest to get around this problem?
Resolution:
Since you are not using the type '03' ID for matching, you can simply omit it from the PLIF input records for patrons who lack it.
In this sequential-format input file, persons with network IDs will continue to get three ID sections (and "030201" in the columns 995-1000 columns of the first segment, the "03" indicating 3 ID segments); and those without campus logon IDs will have "020201" in columns 995-1000 -- and no third ID section .
