    p_manage_01 and z01 table

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
I have found that, if I run Word indexes on a bib library (p_manage_01) with no z01 table in place, I get lots of errors about:

    Oracle error: update_cursor4 z01
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

The program does finish, but I get a lot of these messages.

Further, I've found that, if I do have a z01 table in place during p_manage_01 run, I actually end up with more records in the z97 and z98 tables for that library.

Why is the browse table z01 needed for running Word indexes? And why do I end up with these additional records when it is there? Should I be running Browse indexes before Word indexes? Info I have shows running Word first and browse later in the full course of things.

    Resolution:
This occurs when the bib library tab_expand has the line:
    WORD expand_doc_bib_accref

As described in KB 6715, the expand_doc_bib_accref causes all the words from the headings which are cross-references (non-preferred headings) for the headings in the doc record to be indexed as though they were in the record.

In order for expand_doc_bib_accref to work, p_manage_02 needs to be run before p_manage_01.
