According to documentation the batch service "Selective Dissemination of Information (sdi-01)" is defined in the job_list as follows:

W1 23:30 Y XXX00 p_sdi_01 XXX00 OPEN
W1 23:30 Y XXX00 p_sdi_01 XXX00 UPDATE

What do the parameters "OPEN" and "UPDATE" mean?

Answer

The parameters "OPEN" and "UPDATE" are not functional and were removed in a previous version. A correct line in the $alephe_tab/job_list would be:

W1 23:30 Y XXX00 p_sdi_01 XXX00

Additional Information

The old parameters were still mentioned in the Aleph System Librarian Guide. This is to be corrected in the version 21 revision of this guide.
