publish-05 service extremely slow

Problem Symptoms:
publish-05 (Delete ALEPH published records) takes over 12 hours to delete a publishing set of 175,000 records.
Cause:
Uncertain.
Resolution:
If there is just a single publishing set -- or two or three --, do util a/17/1 for the z00p instead of running publish-05.
If there are more, do util a/17/14 for the z00p to check for missing Oracle indexes.
Additional Information
1. publish-05 is of use only in the case where there are certain publishing sets which need to be preserved. If the z00p records for *all* of the publishing sets are to be deleted, one can do util a/17/1 for the z00p instead. In this case, publish-05 will not need to be run prior to running publish-04 (Initial Publishing Process).
2. One site got the following "resource busy" error in trying to do util a/17/1 for the z00p:
