    Description:
When we export Aleph records containing CJK characters using the p_print_03 utility with UTF_TO_MARC8 in the MARC output format, we get a character translation error. We have DOC-BLANK-CHAR=^ in tab100. It is changing the ‘^’ character (x’5E) to a space (x’20’), and EACC characters that contain what appear to be Aleph subfield delimiters '$$' (x'2424') to subfield delimiter x'1F' . If we export the same record using the p_print_03 utility with the Aleph Sequential output format, the character translation is done correctly.
