    Question

    For a number of our users we have a key type 77 in the z308 records. We do not use the key type actively; nobody enters those records. So we wonder how a few thousand key type 77 entries got in into z308.
    Is there an automated feature the created a z308 record for key type 77?

    Answer

    This type of Z308 records are used for the bypass password option in Aleph OPAC
    It stores the question and answer used as an alternative identification for the patron.
    These type of records are created by the patron when registering from the OPAC.
