There are different “material type” fields in different types of records, such as in PO Line Type and inventory records, but the consistent labeling of different “material type” fields in Alma makes it confusing to ascertain where data points are connected and retrievable.

    status: open
    priority: medium
    subject area: funds expenditure
    acquisitions

    Use Case:

The “material type” field manifests in PO Line Type and in inventory, and there are different tables governing their application.

But it is confusing for the users when Analytics Fund Expenditure Subject Area maps and displays the "Acquisition Material Type" to the “PO Line Type" but the inventory linked to the PO Line displays is not retrievable under the sub-subject area of PO Line.
