    Description

After the "Change physical items" job has run, the report shows that more items were changed than were present in the set. Did the job change a larger amount of items than it should have?

    Resolution

Most likely the job did NOT change too many items

The number in the report is sometimes misunderstood. This happens when the job runs on a job of physical titles but changes attributes of physical items. In the report you see the number of modified item records.

Example: You run the job on a set of 100 BIB records. During the process you get the message that 100 records will be changed in the process. Then in the report you read that 500 records were changed. What appears to be an error, is in fact the number of item records belonging to the above-mentioned BIB records.
