    Changing 'Check' to 'Cheque'

    Question

    In the March release notes it's mentioned that the wording for patron method of payment can be changed from 'check' to 'cheque'. How do we change this?

    Answer

    In line 44 of the 'Alma March 2014 Release Resolved Issues' Excel file, it says.

    Previously, the labels for the circulation desk payment options (Fulfillment > Manage Patron Services > Pay) were preconfigured. They are now customizable by Ex Libris staff. For example, you can change the option of Check to Cheque. To do so, contact Ex Libris Support.

    So you cannot do it yourself, only support can do it.

    Note that after support has changed the wording from 'Check' to 'Cheque' in your Alma, you need to activate the payment method 'Check' in the Circ Desk configuration (in the Circulation Desk - General Information, it will still appear as 'Check').
    But when Circ Desk staff now pays a fine, the entry will appear in the drop-down list for the Payment Method as 'Cheque'.
