    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Alma

    Problem Symptoms:
    Attempting to activate portfolios took a long time ending with error message: "Connection to server reset"
    Many more portfolios were activated than intended
    How can these be deactivated and only the correct ones be loaded/activated

    Cause:
    System timeout

    Resolution:
    To activate portfolios that are in the portfolio loader input file and delete the rest:

    [A] FIND THE PORTFOLIO LOADER

    * Search for Electronic Collection (e.g. Gale Cengage Virtual Reference Library)
    * Select "Edit Service"
    * Select the "Portfolios" tab

    [B] DELETE ALL BUT THE PORTFOLIOS IN THE EXCEL

    * Select "Load Portfolios"
    ** Select Loading Policy Types: "Complete"
    ** Select the option "Delete"

    This will delete all portfolios other than those that are in the Excel spreadsheet

    Additional Information

    More information is found in the Alma Resource Management Guide, "Loading Multiple Portfolios to a Package (Batch File Processing)"
