Due dates of resource sharing loans always moved by one day

    • Product: Alma

    Description

When receiving a borrowing resource sharing item, a lender due date is assigned.
We see that the due date for the patron is always one day later than this lender due date.

It appears that the closed library due date management is applied but the due date is not a closing day.

    Resolution

When you assign a lender due date, you can't define a due time. The system automatically assigns 23:59:59 as a due time. This is generally a closing time for libraries. Even libraries with nonstop open times defined their opening in the calendar as 00:00 to 23:59, and so 23:59:59 is within the one minute which the system regards as closing time.

Solution: Define your closed library due date management as "Move Due Time to Upcoming Closing Time". For a library with nonstop open times it will mean that the due time is changed from 23:59:59 to 23:59:00.

We recommend using format "23:59" instead of "24:00" to ensure that items due on a particular day are not confused with the following day.
